If you are insured in Oregon you do not need a referral to see an acupuncturist or chiropractor for treatment of your auto accident pain. Massage is also a covered treatment option when medically necessary, however you will need a referral for this type of care. We are able to provide access to all of these services.

Typically, your Personal Injury Protection pays for all medically necessary examinations, imaging, physical and prescription medicines, surgery, therapeutic devices, and rehabilitation. Keep in mind, there is a maximum allowable amount which may differ from policy to policy.

Almost always, the answer is yes. In rare cases we may need to send you for imaging before a chiropractic adjustment, however we have many modalities such as massage and acupuncture which can be applied quickly and effectively on the same day as your examination. It is important to note that we will need a claim number with your auto policy contact information in order to start your care.

We collect a great deal of information at your initial visit. We will need your insurance policy and claim number, a detailed account of the accident, and any current treatment or medications for this injury. This is to help set up your medical claim and give us the necessary details to create the best treatment plan. If you are not able to transport yourself, we recommend you bring someone to drive.

Depending on the number of service providers you elect to see, your first treatment can last anywhere from 30 minutes to an hour and a half, or even more. Often we will start your examination with one provider and triage your care to the type of medical treatment which best meets your injury description. For example, soft tissue and internal injuries may be better suited for acupuncture and massage treatment, while structural issues or prescription medications would begin with the acupuncturist or chiropractor.

Regardless, your first visit will likely be longer than most as we will perform a thorough examination and intake in order to establish a baseline for measuring future progress.
